Von Marie Moniz brings a background in community engagement, program development, and strategic partnerships, with a strong focus on expanding access to opportunities for underrepresented communities. She has led initiatives across nonprofit, civic, and entrepreneurial spaces, building relationships and systems that support long-term impact.
In addition to her professional work, Von Marie serves as an elected member of the New Bedford School Committee and is actively involved in regional economic development and community leadership efforts. She is a recipient of the 2023 Massachusetts Black and Latino Legislative Caucus Latino Excellence Award from Antonio F. D. Cabral and the Championing Diversity and Inclusion Award from Bristol Community College. She is passionate about connecting people, strengthening communities, and contributing to mission-driven organizations that create meaningful change.
Von Marie lives in New Bedford with her husband, Dan, their two children, Olivia and Ethan, and their two dogs—a Morkie named Oscar and a Golden Retriever named Sofie. In her free time, she enjoys reading, writing, and traveling.
