Our Impact - Because of Your Support and Advocacy
Since 1966, BBBSRI has grown to serve thousands of youth in Rhode Island by connecting them with positive adult role models that help ignite their full potential. Â In late 2021, our move to Rising Sun Mills in the heart of Olneyville in Providence gave us a chance to continue our impact by being closer to the areas where are a large part of young people we serve reside. Â In 2024 we served more than 250 youth through mentorship and served more than 2500 Rhode Islanders with wrap-around services such as case management, emergency assistance, career exploration, and enrichment activities.Â
A Future Built on Mentorship
Mentorship is more than a meaningful relationship. It is essential infrastructure for the future we want to build. A Future Built on Mentorship makes the case for why investing in young people through caring adult connections is one of the most powerful ways to strengthen mental wellbeing, improve educational engagement, expand economic opportunity, and build more connected communities. Grounded in research, impact data, and real stories, this report shows how mentorship changes individual life trajectories while creating lasting benefits for families, workplaces, and society as a whole.
National Mentoring Impact Data:Â

- Every dollar invested in BBBS mentoring pays for itself within just seven years, creating sustained economic benefits.

MAtches of the Year
Out of hundreds of Matches (Mentor/Mentee Pairs or Big Couple) two are chosen by Big Brothers Big Sisters of RI each year to represent our one-on-one mentoring program throughout Rhode Island. The Matches of the Year are selected based on their deep engagement in our mission, their exceptional advocacy for Big Brothers Big Sisters, and the significant positive impact both Mentor and Mentee have experienced.
